|  | Having your books bound is a first step towards their preservation | |  The fact is that books that are stitched do not stand up very well to handling, dust and light (no boarding).
The pages of books published lately are (very unfortunately) simply glued to the spine and come loose very easily after just a short time.
Anyway it is never advisable to leave an open book lying flat face down.
| Preservation of books | - Avoid taking hold of a book by the liner at the top of the spine: always pick it up by the middle.

Books should also be dusted regularly, and not exposed to sunlight or damp.
- With leather-bound books, do not use a silicone wax as it dries out the leather. It is preferable to use either a natural wax or a special product.
- And never, never use sticky tape to repair your books!
